Within Reach are starting 2026 with a shift in tone. The London teenage metalcore five piece have released new single “Hesitate”, a track that keeps their heavy foundation intact while leaning further into melody and atmosphere.

After the impact of previous singles “Armageddon” and “Drip Fed”, the new release feels like a deliberate step forward rather than a repeat. The riffs are still front and centre, but “Hesitate” opens the door to wider dynamics, giving the band space to explore emotion alongside intensity. It’s the kind of progression that suggests they’re thinking long term about where their sound can go.

Guitarist and co vocalist Bailey Dopson describes the song as a reflection on perspective, focusing on how people can lose sight of their own value while those around them see something very different. That theme shapes the track’s tone, balancing heavier moments with sections that feel more expansive and reflective.

The single continues the momentum the band have built since their 2023 EP Pariah, a period that has seen radio support, competition recognition and growing attention across the UK scene. Being labelled teenage metalcore sensations comes with expectations, but “Hesitate” shows they’re willing to evolve rather than stay comfortable.

Alongside the release, Within Reach have announced a run of April live dates across England, including shows with Mimi Barks, German metalcore outfit The Narrator and a London appearance at Camden’s Underworld supporting Our Promise. It’s another sign that the band’s upward trajectory is continuing.

“Hesitate” feels like the first step into a new chapter. Heavier where it needs to be, more open where it matters, and a clear signal that Within Reach are still finding new ways to grow.
