Wine & Warpaint are back with their first new music since 2024’s Disassociate, releasing the punchy and high impact single Superbloom/Supernova.
The Richmond alternative rock project, led by Brandon O’Neill, leans fully into intensity on the new track. Built around big hooks, driving energy and layered production, Superbloom/Supernova feels designed to hit hard from the first listen. O’Neill describes it as the clearest vision yet of both himself as an artist and the identity of Wine & Warpaint as a band.
Working alongside producer Kyle Black, the goal was not perfection but impact. The track was shaped with meticulous detail, cutting back early ideas and adding synth textures, bass drops and explosive moments to make the choruses feel bigger and more euphoric. The result is a no restraint alternative rock anthem that balances polish with raw emotion.
Lyrically, Superbloom/Supernova explores connection and intensity inside a relationship, focusing on how physical intimacy can restore closeness when things begin to strain. O’Neill has described it as a monogamous anthem, leaning into the rush and clarity that can come from reconnection.
Wine & Warpaint have steadily built momentum through DIY touring and emotionally open songwriting. While the studio project is driven by O’Neill, the full band comes alive on stage, bringing an anthemic energy that has earned them support slots across the east coast and Midwest.

With over a million streams already under their belt and a growing presence in the alternative scene, Superbloom/Supernova marks the start of a new chapter. Bigger, sharper and more focused, it sets the tone for where Wine & Warpaint are heading next.
