Adelaide’s favourite juice-box punk-pop troublemakers are back—and they’ve brought the drama with them. Teenage Joans have just unleashed their brand new single, My Heart’s Dead! and trust us, it’s got “instant singalong” written all over it.

Teenage Joans – My Heart’s Dead!

Fresh off sharing stages with Foo Fighters, Sum 41, and Sleeping With Sirens, the duo—Cahli Blakers and Tahlia Borg—are kicking off their tour with PUP tonight. And what better way to start than by dropping a playful, tongue-in-cheek anthem about heartbreak that still makes you want to dance?

Cahli says the song actually started life in the unlikeliest of ways: with a Ke$ha track. Back when they were brainstorming covers for triple j’s Like A Version in 2024, they toyed with doing Ke$ha’s Die Young. It didn’t make the cut, but they loved their version so much they turned it into something new—then threw in a bit of Blink-182 attitude for good measure. The result? A track that’s catchy, cheeky, and perfect for shouting at the top of your lungs.

“My Heart’s Dead!” is all about asking (dramatically, of course) whether anyone could ever make you fall in love again—because clearly, it’s not going to happen. With three big vocal hooks stacked on top of each other by the end, it’s the kind of track you’ll have stuck in your head before you’ve even finished the first listen. And yes, it’s going to go off live.

If you’ve seen Teenage Joans before, you already know their shows are chaos in the best way. Since bursting onto the scene in 2018, they’ve been winning over fans everywhere with unapologetic lyrics, infectious melodies, and a live energy that leaves you buzzing. They’ve racked up ARIA nominations, smashed records at the SAM Awards, and toured with basically every cool band in Australia. And now, with My Heart’s Dead! in their back pocket, they’re ready to add a few thousand more voices to the singalong.

Catch them on tour with PUP this month, and with Slowly Slowly in September—but fair warning: you’re going to walk out with their new single stuck in your head for days.
