Leeds emo crew Safeguard have dropped their new single You Will Reappear today, and it feels like a proper step forward for a band who’ve been quietly building something special.
If you somehow missed it, Safeguard returned from hiatus last year and wasted no time getting moving again. They kicked things off with a sold out hometown headline at Oporto in Leeds (120 tickets gone two days early), then rolled straight into regular shows and slots alongside Could Be Ghosts, Monroe, Jetski and Really Big Really Clever. Since then, the momentum hasn’t slowed.
Their last single Sweet Pea quietly did bits too. Nearly 150k Spotify streams, over 44k unique listeners, more than 10k saves, and zero paid promo or editorial playlists. That’s all word of mouth and TikTok graft, with the band pulling in over a million video views and building a following the organic way. No shortcuts, just people genuinely connecting with the music.
And now we’ve got You Will Reappear. It’s a soft follow up to Sweet Pea, sticking with that emotional core but leaning harder into raw, intense lyrics. Following up with something this good after how good Sweet Pea was is pretty special. It feels personal, honest, and very Safeguard. One of those tracks that hits a little more every time you spin it.

Live wise, things are lining up nicely too. They’re set to support Beauty School at Brudenell Social Club, On top of that, the band already have their eyes on festivals like 2000 Trees and Download Festival, plus another new single planned for May and their first longer release since returning.
Basically, Safeguard aren’t easing into this next chapter. They’re building properly, release by release, show by show, and You Will Reappear feels like the natural next step. If you like your emo heartfelt, honest, and backed by a band who genuinely care about their community, now’s the time to lock in. These lads are only getting started.
