Richmond’s own House & Home are storming back onto the scene with their second full-length record, and they’re not exactly easing us into it. The band have officially announced their new album, I Won’t Look For You, out November 14th on Open Your Ears Records, and they’ve already set the tone by dropping its first single, “Swarm.” Spoiler alert: it’s as fierce as it sounds.
“Swarm” feels like the moment you finally stop biting your tongue and let every ounce of frustration spill out. The band themselves put it best, saying it’s about those bottled-up feelings that eventually break free in one big, cathartic release. You can hear it all in Joey’s jagged guitar lead, which they’ve revealed was the spark that lit the whole album’s fire. Loud, dissonant, and unapologetically raw—exactly the kind of energy you’d expect from a band ready to level up.
House & Home have described the making of I Won’t Look For You as “loud, scary, exciting, uncomfortable, and cathartic.” If that doesn’t sum up the roller-coaster ride of writing an alt-rock record, what does? From the early single “Swarm” to track titles like Filthy, New Low, and the title track itself, the album promises to dig deep into the messier corners of life and turn them into something explosive.
Of course, what’s a record without a stage to scream it from? The band are lining up shows to celebrate the release, so if you’re itching to hear these tracks live (and you definitely should be), keep an eye on their socials or the Open Your Ears site for ticket info. Something tells us these songs are going to hit even harder in the pit.

So mark your calendars—I Won’t Look For You drops November 14th, and if “Swarm” is anything to go by, it’s going to be a record that makes you feel seen, heard, and maybe a little wrecked in the best way possible.
