East London alt-rock trio False Heads are back with a bang, unveiling the official video for their new single “Loose,” out today (February 28, 2025). The track is the latest preview of their upcoming EP, Cracked, which lands on March 28, 2025, via No Fret Records.

Filmed at The Priory Pub in Kilburn, the video captures the raw energy of the track while perfectly complementing its theme of self-deception and addiction. Directed by Jason Palmer, it’s a fitting visual for a song that blends upbeat instrumentation with darkly introspective lyrics.

Frontman Luke Griffiths describes “Loose” as a reflection on hitting rock bottom and the mental gymnastics people go through to justify substance abuse. “The lyrics are kind of a piss take on myself and others,” he explains. “You convince yourself that drugs and alcohol make you more creative or fun, but at the same time, they sometimes feel like the only escape from anxiety or depression. It’s a terrible cycle.”

False Heads Are Back With a Vengeance

Following a brief hiatus after their 2022 album Sick Moon, False Heads have returned with a recharged sound and fresh perspective. Their new music was recorded with legendary producer Adrian Bushby (Muse, Foo Fighters, U2, Placebo), ensuring their signature gritty energy is sharper than ever.

The Cracked EP promises hard-hitting themes that reflect the increasingly strange times we’re living in. Griffiths, who recently delved into his family’s East End history and even started developing a TV show about it, says the lyrics explore rage, isolation, and a music industry that feels more out of touch than ever. “It’s getting harder for working-class bands like us to break through,” he admits, “but we’re not backing down.”
