There’s something electric about an artist stepping into a new era and making it very clear they’re not here to play it safe. MOTHICA’s done exactly that. Freshly signed to SharpTone Records, she’s kicked open the door to her next chapter with “Evergreen Misery” — a dark, cinematic, and heavy-hitting single that feels like both a rebirth and a reckoning.

Mothica – Evergreen Misery

Let’s get one thing straight: this isn’t the same MOTHICA you remember from her earlier alt-pop days. This is “Rockica,” as her fans have dubbed it — louder, bolder, and completely unapologetic. The track feels like someone reclaiming their voice after weathering every storm imaginable, and it hits harder once you know what’s behind it.

Speaking on the single, MOTHICA revealed that “Evergreen Misery” was born just a few months after coming out of rehab, when she was ready to stop numbing the pain and start turning it into art. “I was ready to leave music entirely,” she admits, explaining how the underbelly of the industry had taken a toll on her mental health. But instead of walking away, she poured it all into this song — the anger, the melancholy, and the dark humour that comes from surviving it all.

The result? A track that’s gritty, emotionally charged, and bursting with defiance. You can hear the weight lift as she reclaims control — not just over her music, but her entire story. The lyrics pull no punches, taking aim at the “energy vampires” and copycats that once fed off her vulnerability. It’s cathartic, it’s personal, and it’s got that bite we’ve been waiting for.

Sonically, MOTHICA is in full evolution mode. Working with producer Elliot Polokoff, she’s drawn from her love of metalcore and industrial rock — think Nine Inch Nails, Sleep Token, Bad Omens, and Bring Me The Horizon — and mixed it with her signature cinematic edge. “Evergreen Misery” sounds like the perfect storm between heartbreak and empowerment, and it’s easy to imagine it shaking the walls of a sold-out venue.

Her signing to SharpTone Records feels like the natural next step. It’s a label known for amplifying artists with something to say — and MOTHICA has plenty. “The team really saw my vision,” she said. “I knew I was stepping into a different sonic direction, and they got it.” That shared vision seems to have unlocked a new fire in her, and if “Evergreen Misery” is the first taste, we’re in for something seriously special.

We’ve had our eyes on MOTHICA for a while now, but this single just sealed the deal — she’s firmly on our ones to watch for 2026. It’s a bold new era, and she means business.
