Broadside have shared new single Control Freak, the latest preview of their upcoming album Nowhere, At Last, due April 10 via Thriller Records.

The track digs into emotional manipulation and the slow realisation that you’ve given more of yourself away than you meant to. Rather than focusing on the aftermath, Control Freak sits in that moment of awareness, when denial fades and the weight of the situation becomes impossible to ignore.

Vocalist Oliver Baxxter says the song explores what it feels like to be controlled by someone while being told the problem exists in your head. That tension drives the track, framing distance not as failure but as the first step toward trusting yourself again.

Musically, Control Freak continues the direction introduced by earlier material from Nowhere, At Last, blending Broadside’s melodic pop rock foundation with darker emotional themes. The band lean into restraint at points, allowing the lyrics to carry the impact before the song opens up into larger moments.

The single adds another layer to the picture around the album, which sees Broadside reflecting on identity, growth and the experience of arriving somewhere after years of change. After a decade of evolution, Nowhere, At Last is positioned as a more self aware chapter rather than a reinvention.

Alongside the release, the band continue a busy touring schedule that includes international dates, a European co headline run and an appearance at Slam Dunk Festival in May.

With Control Freak now out and the album announcement already in motion, Broadside’s next era is taking shape one piece at a time.
