blessthefall are officially back — and they didn’t come quietly. After seven long years, the Arizona metalcore mainstays have announced their brand new album Gallows, set for release on 5th September 2025 via Rise Records. For fans who’ve been holding their breath since Hard Feelings, this new chapter already sounds like it’s going to be worth the wait.
Kicking things off in true BTF fashion, the band has unleashed the first single, “mallxcore,” and it’s a full-blown homage to everything that made them icons of the scene. “You ever hear a song from a band and go, ‘Holy fucking shit, they nailed it?’” frontman Beau Bokan said. “That’s what ‘mallxcore’ will make you feel.” It’s heavy, it’s catchy, it’s self-aware — and yes, the title is a cheeky jab at the r/Metalcore trolls who never gave up the “mallcore” debate.
The visualiser for the single is already live, and fans won’t have to wait long for more. The full music video drops Thursday, 19th June, and according to Bokan, it’s as entertaining as the song itself. Directed by Tanner Gordon (who’s worked with Spiritbox), the video sees the band working average day jobs before being summoned by a dramatic party host to throw down at her event — emergency-style. Expect some fun surprises and a few easter eggs hidden for the OG fans.
As for the rest of Gallows, the band promise it’s the most exciting, unfiltered music they’ve made yet. “We took our time and only wrote when we felt inspired,” Bokan explained. “From the visceral screams over some of the most disgustingly heavy parts we’ve ever written to the massive sing-along choruses, there’s something for everyone.” The album also boasts some stacked features, including Story Of The Year, Alpha Wolf, and Caskets.
