August Burns Red are back with a new single, dropping “Sonic Salvation” featuring Jamie Hails ahead of their next album Season of Surrender, which arrives June 5 via Fearless Records.
The track marks another step in the rollout for the band’s upcoming record, their first release since returning to Fearless Records. Season of Surrender also includes guest appearances from Mike Hranica and Make Them Suffer, building out a stacked feature list across the album.
Speaking on the track, guitarist JB Brubaker said it was the first song written for the record and was designed to create more space for Jake Luhrs vocally while leaning into their hardcore influences. He added that Jamie Hails’ guest spot “really takes it over the top.”
Luhrs also shared that the track focuses on the impact music can have, explaining it’s about “finding power and strength in music” and how it helps people reconnect and escape from the outside world.

The band are currently out on the Spring Horizons co-headline tour with The Amity Affliction across North America, with dates running through May. The new album Season of Surrender lands June 5.
