Leeds alt-rock powerhouse Artio are kicking off a new era — and they’re doing it loud. Their brand-new single Let It Be A Void has officially dropped, and it’s everything you’d expect from one of the UK’s most inventive young bands: bold, emotional, and dripping in attitude. Alongside the new release, they’ve announced a UK headline tour to celebrate their upcoming album Soul Rot, due January 21st via LAB Records.
If you’ve ever seen Artio live, you know they don’t hold back. The group — fronted by the unstoppable Rae Brazill — have carved out a name for themselves with a sound that walks the line between raw emotion and total chaos. They’ve been tearing through stages with acts like VUKOVI, Mothica, and Honey Revenge, building a reputation for shows that feel like both a cathartic release and a full-blown spectacle.
Speaking about the new single, Rae explains, “Let It Be A Void is about refusing to let other people’s ignorant hatred and detest of their own existence get in the way of mine. If you refuse to see me as I am, then I will no longer expend energy to cater to what you want me to be.” It’s defiant, it’s personal, and it’s the perfect taste of what’s to come from Soul Rot — a record that promises to go deep beneath the surface.
“This is the first record I’ve done where I look inwards rather than out,” Rae adds. “Dissecting my own behaviour and how I perceive the world in its liminal state of ending.” Heavy words, but in true Artio fashion, it’s paired with soaring production, dark hooks, and a sense of fearless honesty that’s quickly becoming their signature.
Soul Rot isn’t holding back either. The 14-track album features an impressive lineup of collaborators including Cody Frost, As It Is, and Love Rarely’s CJ, with standouts like The Devil You Know, Full On Fight For Fun, and O Negative already sounding like future live favourites.
The band’s Soul Rot UK Tour kicks off March 11th in Nottingham before hitting London, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, and wrapping in Manchester. You’ll want to grab tickets early — Artio’s live shows are the kind that stick with you long after the last chord fades.
