Angel Du$t don’t really do quiet rollouts. They arrive, they make noise, and they remind you exactly why they sit in that perfect sweet spot between hardcore grit and alt rock swagger. Today, the band have dropped a brand new song and video, “I’m The Outside,” and it feels like another confident step toward what’s shaping up to be one of their most ferocious releases yet.

Angel Du$t – Cold 2 The Touch

The track is the latest taste of their upcoming album Cold 2 The Touch, out February 13th via Run For Cover Records, and if you’ve been following the run of singles so far, you’ll know Angel Du$t are firing on all cylinders right now. “I’m The Outside” doesn’t reinvent their sound, but it sharpens it. It opens with a restless, galloping energy before swerving into a massive, grimy riff that feels lifted straight from the golden era of alternative rock, then drags everything back into the pit with a breakdown that leaves no doubt where the band’s roots still live.

That push and pull is kind of Angel Du$t’s thing, and it’s what makes this era so exciting. They’ve always existed in that in between space, where hardcore kids and alt rock fans both feel at home, and “I’m The Outside” leans right into that identity. It’s tough without being closed off, catchy without sanding down the edges, and loud in a way that feels intentional rather than messy.

Cold 2 The Touch itself clocks in at a tight 26 minutes, which honestly feels perfect for a band like this. No filler, no wasted moments, just a blast of aggressive rock and roll that knows exactly what it wants to be. The album follows 2023’s BRAND NEW SOUL, a record that earned Angel Du$t some of the strongest praise of their career, and this time around they’ve reunited with producer Brian McTernan, who worked on much of their early material. That connection is important, because you can hear the familiarity and trust baked into these songs.

This record also marks the first release with new members Nick Lewis and Jim Carroll, both veterans of the hardcore world, and their presence only adds to the weight and confidence of what Angel Du$t are doing right now. On top of that, the album is stacked with guest appearances that read like a who’s who of heavy music, including Scott Vogel, Wes Eisold, Patrick Cozens, Frank Carter, and Taylor Young. It’s not guest heavy for the sake of it, though. Everything feels purposeful, like a celebration of the scene Angel Du$t came from and still proudly represent.

Lyrically and emotionally, “I’m The Outside” taps into that familiar Angel Du$t feeling of standing slightly apart, owning who you are, and refusing to soften yourself for anyone else’s comfort. Vocalist Tripp puts it plainly when he says this is who they are and this is what they’re going to play. There’s no apology in that statement, and honestly, there doesn’t need to be. Angel Du$t sound locked in, self assured, and fully committed to being exactly what they are.

Cold 2 The Touch Album Artwork

With the album landing in just a few weeks and the band gearing up for a busy stretch on the road, “I’m The Outside” feels like a statement piece. It’s heavy, it’s hooky, and it hits with the kind of confidence you only get when a band knows they’re onto something. If this track is any indication, Cold 2 The Touch isn’t just another Angel Du$t record. It’s a reminder of why they matter in the first place.
