Today, the band have dropped a brand new song and video, “I’m The Outside,” and it feels like another confident step toward what’s shaping up to be one of their most ferocious releases yet.
The track is the latest taste of their upcoming album Cold 2 The Touch, out February 13th via Run For Cover Records, and if you’ve been following the run of singles so far, you’ll know Angel Du$t are firing on all cylinders right now. “I’m The Outside” doesn’t reinvent their sound, but it sharpens it. Lyrically and emotionally, “I’m The Outside” taps into that familiar Angel Du$t feeling of standing slightly apart, owning who you are, and refusing to soften yourself for anyone else’s comfort. Vocalist Tripp puts it plainly when he says this is who they are and this is what they’re going to play. There’s no apology in that statement, and honestly, there doesn’t need to be. Angel Du$t sound locked in, self assured, and fully committed to being exactly what they are.
With the album landing in just a few weeks and the band gearing up for a busy stretch on the road, “I’m The Outside” feels like a statement piece.
