Chicago’s Action/Adventure are back and they’ve just turned things up a notch. The pop-punk powerhouse has teamed up with none other than Dan Lambton (rationale., ex-Real Friends) for their new single Something Isn’t Right Here, and it’s every bit as huge as you’d hope. Between the driving percussion, heavy pop-punk riffs, and a chorus that sticks in your head after one listen, it’s clear the band are pushing themselves into bold new territory.
Drummer Adrian Brown admits the track feels different for them: “We don’t typically do a more electronic sound but I think it adds something really special and unique to the record.” And honestly? He’s right — it’s got a spark that makes it feel fresh without losing the band’s signature punch.
Vocalist/guitarist Brompton Jackson is just as hyped, sharing that the track blends everything from post-hardcore influences to electronic touches: “It’s also special because we have Dan on the track with us. This is something we’ve talked about with him for some time and it’s really awesome that it finally happened.”
The single is the second taste of their upcoming album Ever After, set to drop October 24th via Pure Noise Records. Produced by Alan Day of Four Year Strong, the record promises a mix of hard-hitting hooks and deeper storytelling, with collaborations from Ben Jorgensen (Armor For Sleep) and UK star Noahfinnce also lined up. Judging by the sound of Something Isn’t Right Here, this is shaping up to be Action/Adventure’s most ambitious and exciting record yet.
And if that wasn’t enough, the band are hitting the road across the U.S. this October in support of the album, bringing along Diva Bleach and Not My Weekend. Tickets are already on sale, so if you’re stateside you know what to do.

Action/Adventure’s Ever After is out October 24th via Pure Noise Records. Until then, you can blast Something Isn’t Right Here on repeat and start counting down the days.
