If you’ve ever laid awake at 2AM overthinking every little thing—Action/Adventure just wrote your anthem. The Chicago pop-punk crew are back with their brand new single “Spiral”, a dizzy, anxiety-fuelled track that perfectly captures that restless feeling of being trapped in your own head. It’s the latest taste of their upcoming album Ever After, which drops October 24 via Pure Noise Records, and it might just be their most relatable work yet.

Action/Adventure – “Spiral”

“Spiral” paints a vivid picture of that late-night loop of thoughts you can’t shake, complete with racing riffs and melodies that feel like they’re chasing their own tails. Guitarist Oren Trace explains it best: “This song is about sitting in a room at 2AM after having a slow day with a looming anxiety that someone close to you has something difficult to tell you, but they’ve been avoiding it.” Basically, it’s every pop-punk fan’s inner monologue set to high-octane guitars.

The music video, directed by vocalist Blake Evaristo, adds another layer of intensity — and a Halloween-ready edge. “I think it captures the anxiety-ridden feel of the song while providing a fun visual treat for the eyes,” Blake shared. “Whether you’re a fan of pop-punk or a lover of spooky movies, this package hits all the right notes just in time for your new autumn anthem.”

Ever After sees Action/Adventure pushing further than ever before. With producer Alan Day (Four Year Strong, Knuckle Puck) steering the ship, the band built a record full of sharp hooks, huge choruses, and real emotion — the kind of record that hits you both in the gut and the heart. The album also packs some stacked collaborations, including Dan Lambton (rationale., ex-Real Friends), Ben Jorgensen (Armor For Sleep), and UK star Noahfinnce, who features on the brilliantly titled “Go Directly to Jail. Do Not Pass Go. Do Not Collect $200.”

It’s clear that Action/Adventure aren’t just writing songs — they’re telling stories about the balancing act between dreams and reality, anxiety and ambition. From their viral breakout “Barricades” to their 2022 debut Imposter Syndrome, they’ve carved out a space in pop-punk that feels both fresh and important. And Ever After looks like the bold next chapter they’ve been building toward.

The band will hit the road across the U.S. this October with Diva Bleach and Not My Weekend to celebrate the new album — and if Spiral is anything to go by, fans are in for an emotionally charged ride.
