Evanescence have officially released their sixth studio album, Sanctuary, today, June 5.

The 12 track record arrives more than three years in the making and marks the band’s first full length release since 2021’s The Bitter Truth. Sanctuary was produced by Zakk Cervini, Jordan Fish and Nick Raskulinecz, bringing together a team whose credits include Bring Me The Horizon, Bad Omens, Spiritbox, Architects, Deftones and Korn.

The album features the band’s recent run of successful singles, including “Afterlife”, which topped multiple rock charts after appearing in Netflix’s Devil May Cry, alongside current single “Who Will You Follow”. The track recently reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Rock & Alternative Airplay chart and gave Evanescence their first ever No. 1 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Songs chart.

Speaking about the album, Amy Lee said: “This album is over three years in the making. I am so damn proud of every second of it. It’s overwhelming. Working on it has been my outlet for so much that feels wrong and out of control, and a place to ignite hope through the power of music and connection.”

Early reviews have already been strong, with Kerrang! calling it “Evanescence’s sixth album in 23 years maintains Amy Lee’s reputation for quality over quantity in cinematically dramatic style” while Metal Hammer described it as the band’s “most vital record in years.”

The release comes ahead of a huge world tour that begins next week in North America before heading to the UK and Europe in September. UK dates include Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and London’s O2 Arena, with Poppy joining as special guest. The band have also confirmed arena dates across Australia and New Zealand for March 2027.

Sanctuary is available now across all major streaming platforms, with CD, deluxe editions and vinyl formats also available.
