You know when you leave a gig and can’t stop thinking about how good it was? That’s exactly what happened after The Plot In You’s sold-out show at Manchester Academy 1.
From the second they walked out, it was clear they weren’t here to mess around. Everything just clicked — the sound, the energy, the lighting, all of it. The band sounded ridiculously tight, like every single note had been rehearsed a hundred times over. Landon Tewers’ vocals were spot-on too, shifting from the heavy moments to the cleaner parts with ease. They’ve clearly put in the work, and it shows.
This was my first time seeing them live, and honestly, I was blown away. You can listen to their records all you want, but seeing those songs hit in a room full of people just hits different. Every breakdown landed perfectly, every quieter section felt huge, and there wasn’t a single weak moment the whole set.
The venue couldn’t have been better for it either. Academy 1 has that perfect balance — big enough to feel massive, but still intimate enough that you can actually feel the sound hit you. The lighting setup looked incredible too, adding to the whole atmosphere without being too much.
And massive shoutout to the supports — Cane Hill, Saosin, and Currents all smashed it. It’s rare to see a lineup where every act feels tour-worthy on their own, but this one nailed it from start to finish.
There’s something about The Plot In You that’s just captivating. They don’t overdo it, they don’t try too hard — they just get up there and deliver, and it’s impossible not to get pulled into it. It’s confident, it’s powerful, and it’s everything you want from a live show.
If you get the chance to catch them on this tour, seriously — do it. They’re one of those bands that sound even better live than they do on record, and that’s saying something.
