From May 8th to 10th, the city of Wrexham will come alive once again for FOCUS Wales 2025—and Reckless Press is heading there as festival goers! While we won’t be covering the event officially this year, we couldn’t miss the chance to experience one of the UK’s most exciting festivals for new music. With hundreds of acts performing across dozens of venues, it’s three days packed with discovery, connection, and creativity.
Now in its 15th year, FOCUS Wales has cemented itself as a vital hub for emerging talent. What started as a grassroots celebration of Welsh music has grown into an internationally recognised event that draws artists and industry from across the globe. From small pub stages to packed-out halls, the city of Wrexham becomes a living, breathing venue for three full days of discovery.
This year’s lineup proves why the festival continues to evolve without losing its roots. We’re especially excited to catch:
Nova Twins – Always a standout, their boundary-breaking sound and commanding presence make them a must-see.
Hazmat – Gritty and unpredictable in the best way, they’re bringing something fresh to the table.
Campfire Social – Masters of lush, emotive indie-pop, perfect for a cozy late-night set.
Kidsmoke – Local favourites with an ear for dreamy melodies and slick hooks.
Sleeping Together – Another rising act that’s been buzzing on our radar—we can’t wait to hear what they bring to the stage.
