My Chemical Romance have never been ones to do things quietly—and their latest post is no exception.
Earlier today, the band sent their fanbase into full detective mode with a grainy, VHS-style Instagram upload that feels like it was pulled from the cutting room floor of a lost horror film. The video still is timestamped 07:11:25:00 and overlaid with the eerie caption: “A dagger, a dagger, Please fetch me a dagger.”
Naturally, chaos ensued.
The line is a clear nod to Macbeth, where Shakespeare’s tormented title character hallucinates a floating dagger just before committing murder. It’s moody, melodramatic, and laced with doom—so, basically, peak MCR. But what’s got fans talking even more is that timestamp: July 11, 2025 is just around the corner.
Is it the date of a new single? An album announcement? A short film? A tour? Or something stranger? No one knows yet, and of course, the band isn’t saying a word.
Zoom in, and things only get weirder. Fans are dissecting every inch of the image—some say there’s a symbol reflected in the background that could hint at a new logo or era. Others point out the old-school “REC” overlay and say it feels like part of a found-footage concept.
After all, this is the same band that once rolled out an entire fictional universe for Danger Days. If MCR is back on their cryptic game, we’re 100% here for it.
Whether this is the start of something big or just the band being beautifully chaotic again, one thing’s for sure: we’ll be watching July 11 like hawks.
Let the theories begin.
