Arm’s Length is back with another gut-punch of a song. Their latest single, “You Ominously End”, is out now, giving fans a haunting yet beautifully layered preview of their upcoming sophomore album, There’s A Whole World Out There, dropping May 16, 2025, via Pure Noise Records.

A blend of emotional weight and unexpected sonic textures, “You Ominously End” pairs deeply personal lyrics with a mix of emo, country, and folk influences. Vocalist and guitarist Allen Steinberg describes the track as a reflection on the shame and isolation of mental illness, particularly when it makes reaching out to loved ones feel impossible. The contrast between tragic themes and twangy instrumentals makes it one of the band’s most unique songs yet.
The single follows “Funny Face”, which kicked off the album’s rollout with a surge of nostalgia-drenched riffs and raw lyricism. Fans have praised the band’s ability to evolve while still holding onto the sound that made them stand out in the first place.
Produced by Anton DeLost (who worked on their debut Never Before Seen, Never Again Found), the new album pushes Arm’s Length into deeper, more introspective territory. The band—Steinberg, guitarist Jeremy White, bassist Ben Greenblatt, and drummer Jeff White—crafted the record as a deep dive into personal trauma, love, loss, and resilience. The process was intensely personal for Steinberg, who described the writing period as one of the most mentally challenging times in his life.
With two emotionally charged singles already out, There’s A Whole World Out There is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated alternative releases of the year.
