Jimmy Eat World are giving fans a fresh look behind one of the most important albums of the 2000s.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Bleed American, the band have launched a new track by track video series on YouTube, revisiting every song on the album alongside producer Mark Trombino. New episodes are being released in album order, with the first instalments covering “Bleed American” and “A Praise Chorus”.

What makes the series particularly interesting is that it marks a reunion between the band and Trombino, who helped shape the album back in 2001. According to the band, it had been more than 20 years since they had all been in a studio together.

The videos were filmed at NRG Studios in North Hollywood earlier this year and see Jim Adkins, Rick Burch, Tom Linton and Zach Lind sitting down with Trombino to break down the songs, share memories from the recording process and reveal stories from the sessions that helped turn Bleed American into a defining record of the era.

The band said the anniversary “seemed like perfect timing” to get back behind the console with Trombino and discuss “each song from the album that changed everything for the band”, while uncovering new details about the recording process and individual performances.

For longtime fans, it’s a rare opportunity to hear directly from the people who made the album and learn more about the songs that helped establish Jimmy Eat World as one of the most influential alternative rock bands of their generation. With episodes set to roll out weekly in album order, there is plenty more still to come.
