Stand Atlantic are back with their brand new single “Velcro”, marking the band’s first new release since 2024’s ‘Was Here’
Released via Virgin Music Group, the track sees the Australian four-piece lean harder into melody while still holding onto the energetic edge that’s helped make them one of modern pop punk’s biggest breakout acts. The song debuted earlier today as a First Play on triple j Breakfast alongside a brand new music video filmed inside Sydney’s iconic Young Henrys brewery.
Frontwoman Bonnie Fraser described “Velcro” as a major turning point creatively for the band after years of avoiding writing straightforward love songs.
“I’ve spent 10 years avoiding love songs and writing only about what ended in heartbreak,” Fraser explained. “On ‘Velcro’, that curse is finally broken.”

She continued by calling the track one of the most honest songs she’s written in years following a difficult spell of writer’s block, adding that recording the song live and raw felt like the only way to approach it.
Since forming in Sydney back in 2012, Stand Atlantic have grown into one of Australia’s biggest alternative exports, building a global fanbase and surpassing 500 million streams across their catalogue. Their breakout tracks, massive touring schedule and festival appearances have seen them share stages with acts including A Day To Remember, Sum 41 and I Prevail.
