Mayday Parade are back with a brand new single, “Blame It On The Youth,” released today to mark May Day and kick off the next chapter in their ongoing trilogy album series. The track serves as the first taste of part three, following 2025’s Sweet and Sad, as the band continues celebrating their 20th anniversary.

The trilogy is a full-circle moment for the band, marking their first self-released material since their 2006 debut EP Tales Told By Dead Friends. That early DIY release, once sold in Vans Warped Tour car parks, went on to shift over 50,000 copies and helped lay the groundwork for everything that followed. Now, two decades in, the band are revisiting that independent spirit while still pulling massive numbers, with over 1.4 billion streams across their catalogue.

Speaking on the new track, guitarist Brooks Betts explained how it came together: “Jake came in with this amazing song that we were all drawn to. We knew instantly it was important to get the track right but we really just had a solid chorus and loose verse melodies so the band quickly got to work constructing multiple versions of lyrics to finish the track. We worked together in a way that was truly collaborative and with the process feel we created something we are all super proud of.”

The release lands as Mayday Parade gear up for a busy run of shows across 2026, including appearances at Welcome to Rockville, Sonic Temple, Vans Warped Tour and Aftershock, alongside dates with Taking Back Sunday and Yellowcard.
