If you’ve followed Alex Melton over the last few years, you probably first came across him flipping punk songs into country-leaning covers and somehow making it all feel natural. Those videos picked up serious traction, racked up millions of streams, and quietly set him up for something bigger. Now, he’s taking that next step properly.

Alex has announced his debut album The Process, due out on 3rd March 2026 via Pure Noise Records. And instead of leaning on covers or nostalgia, this one is all original. It’s a record about slowing down, questioning the grind, and trying to find meaning in the messy middle rather than obsessing over the end goal.
Alongside the announcement comes new single Look Up, a track that tackles self sabotage head on. It digs into that anxious spiral where worries feel inevitable, and how easy it is to accidentally make them real just by reacting to them. Rather than offering some neat, tied up solution, the song leans into the idea of facing those thoughts directly and learning to exist alongside them. It’s reflective without being heavy handed, and honest without trying to sound profound for the sake of it.
The album was produced by Alan Day of Four Year Strong, who also co wrote across the record. That collaboration makes sense. There’s a warmth and clarity to these songs that feels lived in, like they’ve been shaped by someone who understands both the rush of momentum and the burnout that can come with it.
Across the record, Alex wrestles with big, familiar questions. What actually matters. Why achievement feels so short lived. Why we spend so much time planning for moments instead of being present in them. Rather than offering tidy answers, The Process sits with the uncertainty. It acknowledges frustration, anxiety, and how unfair things can feel, while still finding space for joy, love, and growth in between.
It’s not about reaching the finish line anymore. It’s about accepting that most of life happens before you ever get there. And if this album is any indication, Alex Melton is finally comfortable living in that space.
The Process is out 3rd March 2026.
