Homebase have just released their new EP Close To Something, and it’s a strong statement from one of the most exciting up and coming bands in the NY and NJ punk scene right now.
The five track release leans into everything that’s been building around the band so far. It’s fast, emotional, and built to hit just as hard live as it does through headphones. Blending hardcore urgency with hook driven pop punk, Close To Something feels tight, direct, and full of intent from start to finish.
At the core of the EP is that balance between aggression and vulnerability. Lines like “The space between the cracks, was all I ever had” give it a more personal edge, while tracks like “Nuff Said” tap into the pressure of figuring things out as a young band trying to break through.
Formed in 2023, Homebase have quickly built momentum through DIY shows and word of mouth, carving out a space between the New York and New Jersey scenes. That early push is already paying off, with their single “Bold” passing 30,000 streams and helping introduce them to a wider audience.
The sound is familiar in the best way, pulling from classic pop punk energy while keeping a heavier, more urgent edge. It’s the kind of release that feels made for packed rooms, something to shout back at the band rather than just listen to.

With Close To Something now out, Homebase are continuing to build on that early buzz, with more shows lined up this spring as they take the EP out on the road.
