Long Island’s Koyo are keeping the momentum rolling with the release of their new single “What I’m Worth”, the latest preview of their upcoming album Barely Here, due out 8 May 2026 via Pure Noise Records.

What I’m Worth

If you’ve been following the band over the past few years, you’ll know they’ve carved out a pretty distinct lane in the modern punk and hardcore world. “What I’m Worth” leans into that sound again, mixing churning riffs with frontman Joey Chiaramonte’s fiery vocals while keeping the big melodic hooks that have become a bit of a Koyo trademark.

The track follows the previously released single “Irreversible” and gives fans another taste of what’s coming on Barely Here, a ten track record that clocks in at just 28 minutes. Short, sharp and straight to the point.

Speaking about the direction of the album, Chiaramonte explained the band didn’t feel the need to overcomplicate things the second time around.

“A lot of bands think their second album has to be this magnum opus epic that sews so many things together, and I think we’d actually taken more of that approach with our first LP. So with Barely Here we wanted to do the opposite of that trajectory. We wanted to refine our strengths instead of doing this purposeful departure. It’s a snapshot of what our band is in its most no-frills, perfected form.”

The album was produced, engineered and mixed by longtime collaborator Jon Markson, whose past work includes Drug Church, Drain and The Story So Far. The record also features guest appearances from Sammy Ciaramitaro of Drain and Marisa Shirar of Fleshwater.

Koyo’s debut album Would You Miss It? helped establish the band as one of the most exciting new voices coming out of the modern punk and hardcore scene, and Barely Here looks set to build on that with a tighter and more focused version of their sound.

The band will also be taking the new material on the road throughout 2026 with tours across North America and Japan, alongside bands like Rise Against, Hot Mulligan and Joyce Manor, plus festival appearances at Sound & Fury and Louder Than Life.

Barely Here

For now, “What I’m Worth” gives fans another glimpse of what’s coming when Barely Here lands in May.
