Ice Nine Kills have officially crossed into one of horror’s most iconic franchises. The band’s new single “Twisting The Knife” lands as part of the Scream 7 soundtrack, bringing their cinematic metal world face to face with Ghostface himself.
The track features actor and musician Mckenna Grace, marking a crossover that feels like a natural fit for a band that has built its identity around horror storytelling. For Ice Nine Kills, this isn’t just another collaboration. It’s a full circle moment. Frontman Spencer Charnas has spoken openly about how the Scream films shaped his love for horror, comedy and the blend between the two that now defines the band’s creative direction.
“Twisting The Knife” leans into that legacy. The song pulls from the atmosphere of Marco Beltrami’s original Scream scores while delivering the band’s signature mix of heavy riffs, melody and theatrical tension. Grace’s vocal appearance adds another layer, helping bring the perspective of the franchise’s characters into the track while widening the crossover appeal.
The music video pushes the INKverse narrative even further. The voice of Ghostface returns, the story continues from last year’s “The Laugh Track”, and familiar horror names appear as the band expands its ongoing cinematic storyline. It’s the kind of world building Ice Nine Kills have turned into their trademark, blurring the line between song, short film and franchise extension.

The collaboration was first teased during the band’s huge Wembley Arena show, where a staged onstage moment involving Scream star Rose McGowan and a Ghostface video call hinted at what was coming. Now, with the single out and Scream 7 hitting cinemas on 27 February, the connection is official.
Two decades into their career, Ice Nine Kills continue to operate in a space few heavy bands occupy, sitting between metal, film culture and fan driven storytelling. “Twisting The Knife” doesn’t just celebrate Scream. It reinforces how central horror has become to the band’s universe and how far that universe keeps expanding.
