Bloom are back, and they’re not holding anything back. The Sydney melodic hardcore crew have just dropped their blistering new single “Out Of Reach,” the latest taste of their upcoming album The Light We Chase, which lands October 31 via Pure Noise Records. And if this track is anything to go by, Bloom’s second full-length is shaping up to be their most emotionally charged work yet.

Bloom – “Out Of Reach”

“Out Of Reach” hits like a wall of emotion — heavy, desperate, and full of self-reflection. It dives deep into the endless chase for something better, and the frustration that comes when the goalposts just keep moving. As frontman Jono Hawkey opens with, “Never satisfied, I always push to have it all,” you can feel the weight of the question: what if it’s all been for nothing? It’s one of those songs that hits the gut before it hits the brain — cathartic, melodic, and raw in all the right places.

The band explains that the song “stems from questioning whether the pursuit is worth it,” and that sense of doubt bleeds through every soaring chorus and breakdown. When Jono switches to clean vocals, you can practically taste the exhaustion. It’s a sound Bloom have perfected — balancing chaos and clarity, heartbreak and hope — and it’s exactly why they’ve become one of the most exciting names in modern hardcore.

Their upcoming record The Light We Chase looks to push that even further. Produced by Sam Bassal (Ocean Grove, Void Of Vision, Thornhill), the album was written and recorded in just a few weeks — but you wouldn’t know it from how big it sounds. It’s Bloom at full force: personal, cinematic, and unafraid to take risks. It also marks their first full-length release with Pure Noise Records after officially joining the label in 2024, bringing a lineup of huge guest features from Patrick Miranda of Movements, Jack Bergin of Void Of Vision, and Mikaila Delgado of Yours Truly.

Bloom’s been on an insane run since their 2024 debut Maybe In Another Life. They’ve played with Silverstein, Polaris, Make Them Suffer, and Holding Absence, even selling out their first Japanese headline shows earlier this year. Now, they’re gearing up to take their intensity across Europe and the UK supporting Thornhill and Ocean Grove this October and November — a lineup that promises nothing short of chaos.
