Beauty School are back, and they’re not holding anything back this time. The Yorkshire alt-rock six-piece have just announced their new album From Now On, dropping October 3rd via Slam Dunk Records, and it’s a full-on emotional rollercoaster—in the best way.

Beauty School – Lately

If their 2022 debut Happiness was the sound of wide-eyed optimism, this new chapter hits a lot harder. From Now On tackles grief, addiction, mental health, burnout, and the messy reality of adult life with a kind of raw honesty that feels impossible to fake. It’s the product of years spent touring, falling apart, and putting themselves back together—then throwing all of that into a record that sounds as cathartic as it does catchy.

The first single Lately is out now, and it’s a big one. Wrapped in upbeat melodies but soaked in anxiety, it was written during a time when guitarist Dan Shaw was stuck in a toxic job and using drinking and smoking just to cope. “I reached out for help, and I was given PowerPoint slides,” he said. Relatable? Painfully.

There’s also Reaper, a collab with none other than Dan Campbell of The Wonder Years—a full-circle moment for a band that grew up idolising them. And the rest of the tracklist doesn’t shy away from anything either. There are songs about losing grandparents, letting go of toxic relationships, and trying to keep a band—and yourself—together when life keeps swinging.

Beauty School’s writing has grown deeper, darker, and more honest—but never loses that spark that made them stand out in the first place. They’re on tour this October with Mouth Culture, and if From Now On is anything to go by, these shows are going to hit hard.
