Fit For A King are entering a bold new era — and they’re doing it on their own terms. The Texas metalcore giants have officially announced their eighth studio album Lonely God, set for release on August 1 via Solid State Records. Alongside the announcement, the band have dropped the album’s title track and its accompanying music video — a punishing dose of the sound that’s made them one of the scene’s most consistent heavyweights.

Fit For A King – Lonely God

The record features twelve tracks, including collaborations with Landon Tewers (The Plot In You), Chris Motionless (Motionless In White), and Lochie Keogh (Alpha Wolf). It’s a stacked lineup that promises both brutality and depth: “Begin The Sacrifice,” “The Temple,” “Extinction,” “No Tomorrow,” “Shelter,” “Monolith (Feat. Lochie Keogh),” “Lonely God,” “Between Us,” “Sentient,” “Blue Venom,” “Technium (Feat. Landon Tewers),” and “Witness The End (Feat. Chris Motionless).”

“Lonely God” wastes no time in hitting hard, boasting gnarly riffs, guttural vocals, and a slightly industrial crunch that amplifies everything. Lyrically, the song explores the isolating cost of chasing power. “They’re trading companionship, relationships, and love for power and money,” explains vocalist Ryan Kirby. “You may have all of the power and be a ‘God,’ but it’s a lonely spot because the world despises you.”

Produced by Daniel Braunstein (Spiritbox), the album represents a creative reset. “We just wrote what we wanted, for the first time, in a really long time,” Kirby shares. “All five of us have our fingerprints on this album. We found a way to balance our voices.”

With their bond tighter than ever and zero pressure to chase trends, Lonely God is shaping up to be one of Fit For A King’s most genuine and hard-hitting releases to date.
