Punk newcomers Winona Fighter have officially released their debut album, My Apologies to the Chef, out now via Rise Records. Packed with raw energy, massive hooks, and unapologetic attitude, the album has already turned heads, with Dork calling it “floor-filling and rattling with pop-punk energy” and Kerrang! predicting: “Make no mistake, we’ll be hearing a lot more from Winona Fighter.”

To celebrate, the band has also released a music video for “TALK”, a fiery anthem about public scrutiny.

Winona Fighter – ‘TALK’

“This Album is Pure, Unfiltered Us”

For frontwoman Coco Kinnon, My Apologies to the Chef is a deeply personal project, recorded in a home studio with guitarist Dan Fuson and bassist/producer Austin Luther.

“It’s crazy that our debut LP is finally out,” Kinnon shares. “It’s raw, full of emotion, and 100% us—three punks obsessed with music, making tunes for people obsessed with music.”

The band’s latest single, “TALK,” takes aim at gossip and internet culture. “The more attention we get, the more we deal with trolls and nonsense,” Kinnon explains. “The music video is a parody biopic—an exaggerated version of me getting into fights, breaking rules, all while dolled up like a zombie.”

A New Voice in Punk

Featuring 14 tracks, the album includes the singles “R U FAMOUS,” “ATTENTION,” “Swear To God That I’m (FINE),” and “I’M IN THE MARKET TO PLEASE NO ONE.” Winona Fighter balance punchy, in-your-face punk with sharp storytelling, covering everything from self-doubt to industry struggles.

“We’re taught to suppress our anger, but why?” Kinnon asks. “This album is an outlet—it’s about turning negative experiences into something powerful.”

First-Ever UK Tour + Slam Dunk Festival

Fresh off a sold-out hometown release show, Winona Fighter will bring their Yes, Chef Tour to the UK this May, including their first-ever headline shows and a slot at Slam Dunk Festival 2025.

The Start of Something Big

With support from Alternative Press, Consequence, Brooklyn Vegan, The Noise, and more, plus key placements on Spotify and Apple Music playlists, Winona Fighter are quickly making a name for themselves.

“All we ever wanted was for one person to believe in us,” says Kinnon. “Now we have all of you. Thank you for letting us live this dream.”
