Angel Du$t are back—and they’re not playing it safe. The band just signed with Run For Cover Records (a match that honestly makes way too much sense) and dropped a brand new 7” single called The Beat. It’s got two wild new tracks—“The Beat” and “The Knife”—and both hit hard in very different ways.

The Beat – Angel Du$t
The Knife – Angel Du$t

If you’ve been following Angel Du$t for a while, you already know they love to keep us guessing. One minute they’re playing with bubblegum melodies, the next they’re charging full-speed into hardcore chaos—and this new era leans all the way into the latter. “The Beat” is a riff-heavy, punk-rock wrecking ball that brings in guest vocals from Taylor Young (Twitching Tongues, God’s Hate, and a bunch of other heavy projects), and the music video is just as unhinged as the song itself.

“The Knife” balances things out with a little more groove, but still keeps that stompy edge and psych-tinged weirdness that makes Angel Du$t so damn fun to follow. Both tracks were recorded with Brian McTernan—the same guy who helped shape their earliest records—which gives the whole thing this raw, full-circle energy.

And just to top it off, if you grab the vinyl, you’ll also get a bonus cover of Bugg’s “I Don’t Wanna Hear It” featuring none other than Scott Vogel from Terror. Yeah, it’s that kind of drop.

Justice Tripp summed it up best when he said joining Run For Cover just “felt right”—and after hearing these songs, it’s hard to argue. Angel Du$t have always been hard to pin down, and this move only opens the door for more of the genre-bending, heart-on-sleeve chaos they do best.

They’re hitting the UK this August for a few headline shows and a slot at United & Strong Fest in London. If you’re around Newcastle or Leeds—do not sleep on those dates.

Angel Du$t are clearly in their next era, and it’s loud, fast, and exactly what we needed.
