Atlanta’s own chaotic sextet, The Callous Daoboys, are back with a brand-new album, I Don’t Want to See You in Heaven, set to drop on May 16, 2025, via MNRK Heavy. This marks their first full-length release since 2022’s Celebrity Therapist and follows their 2023 EP, God Smiles Upon The Callous Daoboys, which earned a nomination for Best Heavy Record at the 2024 A2IM Libera Awards.
Described as their most personal record yet, I Don’t Want to See You in Heaven presents itself as an artifact from 300 years in the future, preserved in what the band calls “The Museum of Failure.” Through its 13 tracks, the album wrestles with themes of artistic legacy, time, and self-reflection.

Alongside the album announcement, the band has unveiled a double-single—“Two-Headed Trout/The Demon of Unreality Limping Like A Dog”—along with a cinematic music video that gives fans their first glimpse into I Don’t Want to See You in Heaven.

Vocalist Carson Pace shared insight into the album’s concept, explaining:
“The album is an artifact that’s been preserved, and hundreds of years in the future, you’re listening to this album in the museum. It’s a known failure, but the narrative is ‘if it survives forever, is it truly a failure?’”
“Everything is very singular and personal. I’m not making an album commenting on anything societal or political this time, this is an album just for me. It’s every emotion I’ve felt and sobering thought since 2021. I can only make this album now, not in three years when I’m thirty, not ten years ago when I was seventeen. This is the snapshot of 24-27. A scrapbook of trial and error, or better yet, a Museum of Failure.”
On the double-single release, Pace added:
“These two pieces do not represent a thesis or mission statement of the collection, but rather two extremities. If you’re a fan of us being a rock band, I have good news for you. If you’re a fan of us being a chaotic metalcore band, I have GREAT news for you. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Enjoy.”

The Callous Daoboys are currently hitting the road on the 25 Years of Noise World Tour alongside Silverstein, Thursday, and Bloom, with dates spanning across North America, the UK, and Europe.
Shortly after, they’ll join the 20 Years of All’s Well That Ends Well tour with Chiodos, Hawthorne Heights, and Emmure, followed by a special appearance on Coheed and Cambria’s S.S. Neverender Cruise from Miami, FL, to Cozumel, Mexico.
