Scott Phillips has taken on a new challenge with Drumeo, sitting down to learn the drum parts to A Day To Remember’s “The Downfall Of Us All” after hearing the track for the first time.

The Creed and Alter Bridge drummer is the latest name to feature in the series, which sees musicians break down and recreate songs on the spot. In this session, Phillips listens through the track, maps out the structure, and builds his own version of the drum parts before performing a full take.

Speaking during the process, Phillips explains that he usually works more off instinct than strict charting, focusing on feel and letting the parts come together naturally as he goes.

The video also features a reaction from A Day To Remember’s Alex Shelnutt, who watches Phillips’ take and gives his thoughts on the more rock driven interpretation. The full session is available now via Drumeo.
