Yellowcard have officially returned with “Better Days,” their first original single in nearly a decade—and it’s more than just a comeback. It’s the beginning of a brand-new chapter, backed by Blink-182’s Travis Barker and a full-length album on the horizon.
Released today (May 28), “Better Days” is the title track from their upcoming album, set to drop October 10 via Better Noise Music. It’s Yellowcard’s first original release since their 2016 self-titled swan song, and it picks up with the emotional urgency and melodic punch that made them staples of the 2000s pop punk scene.
Travis Barker isn’t just a featured guest—he’s producing the full record and plays drums throughout, giving the track a tighter, punchier backbone while still letting Yellowcard’s signature violin and soaring choruses shine. The collaboration brings a modern edge to the band’s sound without losing the heart that longtime fans have always connected with.
Alongside the single, Yellowcard dropped a striking music video directed by Jordan Phoenix. The video cuts between intense studio shots and personal footage, capturing both the emotional weight of the lyrics and the band’s renewed energy. It’s a glimpse into how far they’ve come—and how excited they are to be back.
“Better Days” doesn’t feel like a band retracing old steps—it sounds like they’ve taken everything they’ve learned, everything they’ve lived through, and turned it into something powerful. And if this first track is anything to go by, Yellowcard’s future is looking just as bright as their past.
